  • Official documents of the 12th century already describe the vineyards of Verrazzano. 42 ha of vineyards extend at an altitude of 260 to 380 m above sea level. The soil is rocky and calcareous. Today, Castello di Verrazzano is undoubtedly one of the most important wineries in the area. For 1.000 years, the estate borders have remained unchanged. The method of cultivation follows the tradition of the Chianti Classico area. All grapes are handpicked, the advantageous central position of the wine cellar allows immediate processing. The antique storage cellar dates back to the 16th century. For the Chianti Classico and the Chianti Classico Riserva wood barrels of 30 hl content are used. At the castle you can find a selection of the best vintages dating from today back to 1924
